About me

I started this blog in June 2012 to maintain momentum and keep track of my running.

I've been running on and off for about 10 years. Running was addictive, but it took me a couple of years before I felt confident enough to enter my first fun run, which I completed in 2004. After a few more short distance races I decided to train for, and run a half marathon, which I ran in July 2005, in 2:07. I loved it so much I decided I wanted to run and race more. Injuries, major and minor, postgraduate study and life have all contributed to less than consistent running since then.

In early 2012 I decided enough was enough. A new role and work and a recurrent calf tear had stopped me running in early 2010 but I stilled wanted to run that marathon.

This is my journey to that marathon and I'm going to get there! I'm going to run intervals, hills, tempo, and whatever else it takes to see what I can achieve when I put my mind and body to it.
